STONE SOUR Guitarist Says Getting Back Onstage Was 'Terrifying'

Launch Radio Networks reports: STONE SOUR ends its stint on the Family Values tour tonight (Wednesday, September 20) as the KORN-led festival closes out its run in West Palm Beach, Florida. STONE SOUR's first tour in three years started earlier this summer in Europe, and guitarist Josh Rand told Launch how it felt for him to get back onstage after the long layoff. "Actually, at first when we went to Europe, it was kind of terrifying again," he said. "It was like starting all over, you know, because I'd been away from it for so long. It's like, 'Okay, you've been gone for two-and-a-half-years, whatever, here you go, you're gonna go do Rock am Ring, which is one of the biggest festivals in the world.'But you get back into it. I'm really proud of this record and I'm stoked to play this live, so it's been really exciting."

STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root recorded an album with SLIPKNOT and toured with that group in between STONE SOUR projects.

STONE SOUR's second effort, "Come What(ever) May", came out last month and features the chart-topping single "Through Glass".

Taylor joined KORN onstage last Friday (September 15) at the Family Values show in Camden, New Jersey to perform "Freak On A Leash". Although he shared vocals with KORN's Jonathan Davis this time, Taylor performed the song by himself with KORN last June when Davis took ill and was unable to perform at England's Download Festival.

STONE SOUR will play its first-ever show in Russia on October 18 before heading out on a series of European dates, after which it is scheduled to return to the U.S. and join DISTURBED on the Music As A Weapon tour.
